Permission Denied, Again

The situation

The creator service stopped mid-shift: it can't read its own config file. A cleanup script ran overnight and changed ownership on half of /srv. Kabelo and Lydia want it fixed properly, not with a sledgehammer.

What you'll learn

• Creating users and groups (useradd, groupadd, usermod -aG, passwd, su versus sudo), the files /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow and /etc/group, setuid, setgid and sticky bits, umask, hard and symbolic links, and the everyday file operations mkdir -p, rm -r and relative paths.
